01/10/2024 - Parking Arrangements for Christmas 2024 in Support of Local Businesses ref: 1228    Recommendations Approved (subject to call-in)

As in previous years, it is the intention to allow 4 days when charges do not apply in town and village centre car parks to assist businesses. These days are:
• Small Business Saturday (this year on the 7th of December 2024)
• The last weekend before Christmas (21st/22nd December 2024)
• An additional day where Town and Parish Councils may request free parking in support of their Christmas events.

Decision:

On 1 October 2024, Councillor Geoff Blunden, the Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability made the following decision:
That the Council allocate 4 days of free parking in town centre car parks to support local businesses and communities during December 2024.
Any member of the Council, who is not a Portfolio Holder, who considers that this decision should be reviewed should give notice using the call-in facility at the top of this page on the Council’s intranet / extranet site.
Alternatively, notice can be given to the Monitoring Officer (Tanya Coulter) (in writing or by e-mail) to be received ON OR BY 5.15 pm on 8 October 2024.

This report provides a summary of the options available to maintain the Council’s legal duties following an end of the Emergency Planning service provided to NFDC by Hampshire County Council.

On 19 September 2024, Cllr Dan Poole, the Portfolio Holder for Community, Safety and Wellbeing made the following decision:

To commission Southampton City Council to deliver a range of Emergency planning functions on behalf of NFDC.

Any member of the Council, who is not a Portfolio Holder, who considers that this decision should be reviewed should give notice using the call-in facility at the top of this page on the Council’s intranet / extranet site.
