The Appeals Committee was established to provide an independent forum to hear appeals against decisions of the Council, particularly where there is no external appeal process. Appeals of between 3 and 5 members are convened to hear the appeals. The main subjects covered are:
· Staffing issues covered by the disciplinary and grievance procedures;
· Tree Preservation Orders
· Housing matters
· Non-domestic rate relief – decisions about applications for discretionary relief.
