To elect a Chairman for the meeting.

RESOLVED:

 

That Cllr Beck be elected Chairman of the Sub-Committee for this meeting.

To confirm the minute of the meetings held on 11 October 2013 and 23 February 2015 as correct records.

RESOLVED:

 

That the minutes of the meetings of the Licensing Sub-Committee held on 11 October 2013 and 23 February 2015 be signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

Exclusion of the Public and the Press

At the conclusion of this part of the Agenda, the Chairman of the Sub-Committee will move the following resolution:-

 

“That, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and the Press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act and the public interest in maintaining the exception outweighs the public interest in disclosing it.”

That, under Section 100 (A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and the Press be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 7 of Parts 1 & 2 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Application for a Combined Hackney and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence

To consider an application for a combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered an application for a combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence.

 

The Licensing Officer presented her report, and the Applicant presented his case. Both responded to Members’ questions.

 

The Licensing Officer and the Applicant then withdrew while the Sub-Committee deliberated the matter.

 

In coming to their decision, the Sub-Committee took into consideration the representations made by the Applicant, and were of the view that the Applicant had demonstrated that he was a ‘fit and proper’ person to hold a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence. As such it was:

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the application for a combined Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence be granted.
