Cllr Bob Wappet Minutes: It was with great sadness that the Chairman reported the death of Councillor Bob Wappet, who represented the Fawley, Blackfield and Langley Ward, and who had been a very active member of this Committee throughout his time with the Council. Cllr Wappet was first elected to the Council in 2007.
Cllr Wappet had always been extremely well prepared for each meeting. He always arrived early and could be found quietly reading his papers in the members’ coffee lounge. He brought his clear analytical brain to the task and the Committee benefitted from his expert knowledge of engineering, which gave additional insights into some of the more complex planning applications.
Other members spoke of the affection and respect with which Cllr Wappet had been regarded, both within the Council and his local community. He had been characterised by his kindness and willingness to help people.
All those present stood as a mark of respect for his memory.
