Mr T Barnett

Minutes:

The Chairman advised Members that Mr Barnett would be retiring at the end of February after some 44 years’ service in local government, having joined New Forest District Council shortly after it had been established in 1974.  Over recent years, as an Area Planning Officer and also a Team Leader, he had presented planning applications to the Committee.

 

On behalf of the Committee, the Chairman thanked Mr Barnett for his work on behalf of the authority over the years.

 

Mr Barnett thanked Members and expressed his appreciation for the constructive working relationship between members and officers that he had enjoyed over the years.

Minutes:

Cllr Beck disclosed a non-pecuniary interest in applications 17/10901 and 17/11576 as a member of New Milton Town Council which had commented on the applications.

 

Cllr Thierry disclosed a disclosable pecuniary interest in application 17/11139 on the grounds that the applicant was one of his clients.

Cllr Beck disclosed a non-pecuniary interest as a member of New Milton Town Council which had commented on the application.  He concluded that there were no grounds under common law to prevent him from remaining in the meeting to observe proceedings.

 

Members were advised that the description of the application should refer to 22 units of accommodation, not 23 as originally stated.
