Declarations of Interest

To note any declarations of interest made by members in connection with an agenda item.  The nature of the interest must also be specified.

 

Members are asked to discuss any possible interests with Democratic Services prior to the meeting.

 

 

Minutes:

Cllrs Corbridge and Dunning disclosed a non-pecuniary interest in application 20/10335 as members of Lymington and Pennington Town Council which had commented on the application. They concluded that there were no grounds under common law to prevent them from remaining in the meeting to speak and to vote.

 

Cllr Glass disclosed a non-pecuniary interest in application 20/10167 as he had been in contact with the applicant in relation to the application.  He concluded that there were grounds under common law not to participate in the debate or vote on the application but he was present during the consideration of this item and made a statement on the matter.

 

Cllr Thorne disclosed a non-pecuniary interest in application 20/10167 as a member of Fawley Parish Council which had commented on the application. She concluded that there were no grounds under common law to prevent her from remaining in the meeting to speak and to vote.

The case officer reported an update regarding an additional representation from the Planning Agent on behalf of the applicant. The summary of issues was included in the update note circulated prior to the meeting. 

 

A statement was read out on behalf of Mrs Goddard (Applicant).

 

Comment:

 

Cllr Glass disclosed a non-pecuniary interest as he had been in contact with the applicant in relation to the application.  He concluded that there were grounds under common law not to participate in the debate or vote on the application but he was present during the consideration of this item and made a statement on the matter.

 

Cllr Thorne disclosed a non-pecuniary interest as a member of Fawley Parish Council which had commented on the application. She concluded that there were no grounds under common law to prevent her from remaining in the meeting to speak and to vote.

 

The case officer reported that a revised plan had been submitted showing the wall with the approved front extension.  This had not been included in the presentation to members, however it did not materially affect the considerations of the Committee.

The Committee considered the application and the view was expressed that the application would have an unneighbourly impact on the adjoining property resulting in an unacceptable loss of light, contrary to adopted policy CS2 of the Core Strategy.

 

Cllrs Clark and Wade were not present for the duration of this item, due to a lost connection with the Skype meeting.  Cllrs Clark and Wade did not vote in respect of the application.

 

Cllr Hawkins was not present for this item.
