That the minutes of the meetings held on 18 November 2014 and 10 July 2015 (including confidential minutes) be signed by the Chairman as correct records.

Declarations of Interest

To note any declarations of interest made by members in connection with an agenda item.  The nature of the interest must also be specified.

Exclusion of the public and the press

At the conclusion of this part of the Agenda, the Chairman of the Committee will move the following resolution:-

 

         "That, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and the Press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act and the public interest in maintaining the exception outweighs the public interest in disclosing it."

That, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and the Press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act and the public interest in maintaining the exception outweighs the public interest in disclosing it.

Appeal Against Dismissal

To consider an Appeal against a decision to dismiss an employee.

There is a confidential minute recording this discussion.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Panel was satisfied that the decision to dismiss the appellant, on the grounds that he had failed to meet his contractual obligations due to frequent sickness absence, was correct.  There were no grounds to conclude that this situation would change and accordingly the dismissal was confirmed.
