Declarations of Interest

To note any declarations of interest made by members in connection with an agenda item.  The nature of the interest must also be specified.

Exclusion of the public and the press

At the conclusion of this part of the Agenda, the Chairman of the Committee will move the following resolution:-

 

"That, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and the Press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Act and the public interest in maintaining the exception outweighs the public interest in disclosing it."

Appeal Against Dismissal

To consider an appeal against this Council’s decision to dismiss an employee.

RESOLVED:

 

(a)         That, in the light of all the evidence submitted, the Panel was satisfied that the alleged disciplinary gross misconduct had occurred and that the decision to dismiss the appellant was correct and should be confirmed.

 

(b)         That the decision not to submit the evidence in this case to the police for further investigation with a view to potential prosecution should be reviewed.
