Purpose:
The report proposes a free parking day in NFDC
town and village centre car parks marking the 80 years since VE day
(8 May 1945) (Victory in Europe), when the Second World War came to
an end in Europe, where it is requested by a Town or Parish Council
in support of an event to mark the occasion.
Decision:
On 15 April 2025, Cllr Geoffrey Blunden, the
Portfolio Holder for Environment and Sustainability made the
following decision:
That the Council provide a days free parking in its town and
village centre car parks to mark VE Day (8 May 2025), where it is
requested by a Town or Parish Council in support of an event to
mark the occasion.
Any member of the Council, who is not a Portfolio Holder, who
considers that this decision should be reviewed should give notice
using the call-in facility at the top of this page on the
Council’s intranet / extranet site.
Alternatively, notice can be given to the Monitoring Officer (Tanya
Coulter) (in writing or by e-mail) to be received ON OR BY 5.15 pm
on 24 April 2025.
