These interventions have created a stronger sense of place improving the town centres aesthetics. Have improved access to the centres whilst providing opportunities for residents to come together creating new cultural and recreational assets. Increased footfall of residents and visitors have supported local businesses by attracting a greater number of customers.

EV Vehicle charging points |

Two charging points installed supporting ‘green visits’ to the New Forest. Reduction of air pollution (CO2) through increased use of EV vehicles which by proxy supports the wider environmental and climate aspirations of NFDC, whilst protecting the New Forest’s natural capital. |

Coastal beach shelters |

Facilities improved at 3 sites, including improved access for wheelchair users and push chairs. This allows residents and visitors to take advantage of coastal areas and get out in the natural environment which provides significant health and wellbeing benefits. Local businesses benefit as all-weather facilities will drive footfall on days where the climate is changeable as well as extending the traditional tourist season. |

This provides opportunities for residents to connect and live healthier and fulfilling lives. A range of interventions ensuring people of all ages across the New Forest are more active, Investment into facilities, a range of events and direct interaction with residents has increased health and wellbeing levels ensuring people lead long and fulfilling lives. |

Through the delivery of 4 business support projects businesses in the New Forest have been supported through the different stages of an organisations life cycle. As a result of the interventions businesses have entered new markets, become more productive and created new jobs supporting inclusive growth and prosperity. |

New Forest skills action plan |

An employment and skills strategy has been produced that supports residents of the New Forest to access skills and employment. It has identified opportunities and challenges alongside a high-level action plan to maximise present and future opportunities for New Forest residents. The plan also supports businesses by providing approaches that can address current and future skills shortages. This 2-pronged approach ensure inclusive growth for all. |

Awareness of climate action and its impact imparted on residents and businesses across the New Forest. The result is reduced energy consumption for residential and business premises supporting the Council’s climate and environmental ambitions and reducing the cost of energy for those engaged on the project. Significant employment and skills opportunities created as result of the project including access to professional qualifications and volunteering opportunities. |
